**Family Launches Fundraiser for Joshua Bennett, Man Who Died After His Truck Became Trapped in Flood Waters**The family of Joshua Bennett, the man who died Monday after calling his wife from his pickup truck trapped in flood waters, has started a GoFundMe to support his wife and four children. The fundraiser was organized by Allyssa Petit-Maitre, the sister of Josh's wife. According to the family, Josh died after his vehicle became submerged in a river.Josh leaves behind his wife, a son, and three daughters. The family says all three daughters have special needs and rely on consistent specialized care. His wife is a stay-at-home mother who has devoted herself to caring for their children. The family says the money raised will go toward keeping a safe, stable home for his wife and children and making sure the children's care continues during this transition. The family describes Josh as generous and adventurous, someone who always made sure the people around him felt cared for, and above all a devoted father. As of Thursday, the fundraiser had brought in more than $56,000 toward its $90,000 goal from over 310 donors. The family says that anyone unable to donate can help by sharing the fundraiser or keeping them in their prayers. The link to the GoFundMe is in the c#palmbay#brevardcountyv#spacecoastSpaceCoast ...

Electric and hybrid vehicles with lithium-ion batteries that have been submerged in floodwaters, can catch fire hours, days or even weeks later. If your EV was submerged:▪️Do not start, drive or charge the vehicle.▪️Keep people away from the vehicle and battery.▪️Call 911 if you notice smoke, sparks, flames, leaking fluids, unusual odors or gurgling sounds.▪️If safely possible, keep windows and doors open and store the vehicle outdoors, at least 50 feet from buildings and other combustible materials.▪️Do not open the battery pack or remove service disconnects.▪️Tell the tow operator the vehicle was submerged so it can be handled safely.⚠️ These precautions also apply to submerged e-bikes, electric scooters, golf carts and other lithium-ion battery-powered equipment. If a home or business battery energy storage system was submerged, shut off power to the unit and contact the manufacturer. Call 911 if you see white smoke. When in doubt, keep your distance and call for help.Post from Brevard County Fire Rescue ...
