TRUMP ANNOUNCES SECOND FARM BAILOUT: $8 BILLION FOR DIESEL COSTSPresident Trump announced Monday night at a Kansas rally that the USDA will send $8 billion in one-time payments to farmers to offset record diesel prices during harvest season. It’s the second farm bailout of his second term. The first, a $12 billion package last December, went to farmers hurt by the president’s tariffs and trade disputes. This time, the pressure comes from fuel and fertilizer costs that have soared since President Trump launched military strikes on Iran on Feb. 28. The USDA projects farm fuel expenses will jump nearly 30% this year. The announcement comes 15 days before the midterm elections. “When Republicans win, we will pass even more funding for our farmers,” the president said.#FarmBailout #Agriculture #Midterms2026 ...

ARREST MADE: Four months after 15-year-old Isaiah Irizarry was struck and left on Viera Boulevard on Father’s Day, the Florida Highway Patrol has arrested the driver.Aidan Perry, 19, of Melbourne, was arrested by FHP on Tuesday, Oct. 20, on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail.According to FHP, Isaiah was riding an electric scooter east on the shoulder of Viera Boulevard, east of Independence Avenue, at about 3:50 a.m. on June 21 when an eastbound 2009 Hyundai Genesis veered onto the shoulder and hit him with its right side. The driver did not stop. Isaiah was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where he later died.Troopers found a passenger side mirror at the scene and matched it to a black 2009 or 2010 Hyundai Genesis. They located a car about a mile and a half south of the crash with damage consistent with the collision and took it in as evidence. A witness description we shared in June described a dark SUV. FHP identified the vehicle as a sedan.Isaiah was a Viera High School student heading into 10th grade and a basketball player who had turned 15 only weeks before he was killed. When he got his Florida ID after his birthday, he registered as an organ donor, and his organs went on to help other families. His family has since launched Isaiah’s IDea, a campaign to help young people get state-issued ID cards.Leaving the scene of a crash involving death is a first-degree felony in Florida and carries a four-year minimum mandatory prison sentence. Perry has not been convicted, and FHP has not said how investigators connected him to the crash. We will update as court records become available. To everyone who shared Isaiah’s story in June: thank you.#Viera #BrevardCounty #HitAndRun ...

OIL HITS FIVE-MONTH HIGH AFTER OVERNIGHT SURGECrude oil prices jumped overnight, pushing U.S. crude futures to $108.40 a barrel as of 8:06 a.m. Tuesday. That's a gain of $13.64, or more than 14%, in just five trading days.Brent crude, the international benchmark, climbed as high as $111.05 a barrel, its highest level since May.The surge follows claims by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels that they launched attacks Monday on Saudi energy, airport and military targets, including an Aramco site in Yanbu, the Shaybah oilfield and the main airport in Riyadh. Saudi authorities have not confirmed the attacks.Traders are also watching reports of strikes on commercial ships in the Gulf. Analytics firm Kpler said at least 18 vessels were reportedly attacked over the past two weeks.U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said crude flows from the Gulf have recovered to about 80% of pre-war levels, but shipments of refined products like gasoline and diesel remain tighter.Analysts warn the rising prices are reigniting fears of stubborn inflation, which could put pressure on interest rates. Drivers should keep an eye on the pump in the day#OilPrices##GasPrices##spacecoastSpaceCoast ...
