The Starbucks inside Melbourne Square Mall has closed after nearly 20 years in operation.![]()

Brian Cavins, the location's first manager, shared the news in a Facebook post describing the closing as "a bittersweet day." Cavins said he was there when the space was cleared out as a Barnie's Coffee & Tea, then returned a few months later to open it as a Starbucks.![]()

It was Cavins' first store as a manager and the first team he built. He described it as a place of personal growth, lasting friendships, and countless customer connections.![]()

According to Cavins, employees, known as partners, are transitioning to new home stores. "Everyone will be okay," he wrote, adding that the team's care and support has been felt throughout the process.![]()

Cavins spent part of the final day of operations with the staff, noting it felt fitting to be there on both the first day and the last.![]()

"Thank you for 20+ years of my life, and for all of the amazing customers and partners who were part of the journey along the way," Cavins wrote.![]()
