Washington, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump announced the launch of a new immigration initiative called THE TRUMP GOLD CARD, a program that allows wealthy individuals and corporations to purchase expedited U.S. residency through a multimillion-dollar contribution.

In a statement released on his verified social media account, Trump said the Gold Card would be available to individuals for $1 million and to corporations for $2 million. A higher-tier Trump Platinum Card is also listed as “coming soon,” requiring a $5 million contribution for expanded privileges, including extended stays without U.S. tax liability on non-U.S. income.

“For far too long, we have had millions of illegal aliens pouring into our country, and our immigration system was broken,” Trump’s statement read. “It is beyond time that the American people, and American taxpayers, are benefitting from our legal immigration system. We anticipate THE TRUMP GOLD CARD will generate well over $100 billion very quickly. This money will be used for reducing taxes, pro-growth projects, and paying down our debt.”

How It Works

According to the official website TrumpCard.gov, applicants must submit an application along with a processing fee. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will conduct vetting, including background checks, before approval.

Trump Gold Card (Individuals): $1 million contribution, fast-track U.S. residency. Trump Corporate Gold Card: $2 million contribution, allows companies to sponsor employees for expedited residency, with transferability between workers. Trump Platinum Card (Coming Soon): $5 million contribution, permits up to 270 days in the U.S. annually without U.S. taxation on foreign income.

Promotional materials describe the cards as providing “exclusive privileges” and “America’s opportunities accelerated.” The website displays an image of a gold card emblazoned with Trump’s likeness, the Statue of Liberty, and the American eagle.

Reactions and Controversy

Critics are already raising concerns that the initiative amounts to “selling citizenship” to the highest bidder, furthering inequality in the immigration system. Immigration advocates warn that the program undermines long-standing processes for asylum seekers and legal immigrants who often wait years for approval.

Supporters argue the program could inject billions of dollars into the U.S. economy while reducing taxpayer burdens.

The White House claims revenue from the Gold Card program will go toward tax reduction, infrastructure projects, and national debt relief.

A Shift in U.S. Immigration Policy

While the U.S. has had investor visa programs in the past, such as the EB-5 program requiring a minimum $800,000 investment in job-creating projects, the Trump Gold Card marks the first time a flat monetary contribution is directly tied to expedited residency.

The move signals a dramatic restructuring of immigration under Trump’s administration, prioritizing wealthy individuals and corporations while continuing to restrict asylum and refugee pathways.
