Significant questions about public safety and oversight, after professional wrestling trainer and registered child sex offender Chasyn Rance recently hosted an event at Palm Bay High School in Melbourne, Florida. The event, marketed as “InclusionMania,” featured special needs children engaging in wrestling activities alongside Rance and his colleagues. This marks the second year that Rance’s organization has held this event on school grounds, despite his criminal history involving minors. According to the school district, the event went through the “proper approval procedures.” Him and his organization Team Vision Dojo are also featured in Space Coast Daily’s “State Fair” which is hosted on land owned by The Viera Company, with a church on one side and Viera Middle School on the other.

A Troubling Past
Chasyn Rance was found guilty in 2011 of lewd and lascivious battery involving a minor, with the offense dating back to 2008. Court documents reveal he repeatedly raped a young girl the age of 15 with promises of getting married in the future. He was 25 at the time. As a registered sex offender, Rance served time and completed his probation, which included restrictions such as therapy, a ban on interacting with minors, and regular drug testing. According to a statement provided by Rance’s organization, Team Vision Dojo, he has since returned to training minors with what they describe as “full knowledge of his past shared with parents.” You can read the arrest warrant detailing the crimes at the end of this article. It is extremely troubling so use your discretion.

Despite his completed probation, Florida law and Brevard County ordinances impose strict restrictions on registered sex offenders, typically barring them from school grounds and other areas where minors congregate. Last year when we discovered another convicted child rapist working on the grounds of Space Coast Daily Park, our reporting resulted in a change to the law in Brevard County. Then, registered sex offenders could be on grounds they otherwise would be prohibited from as long as they were “gainfully employed.” That is no longer the case. Space Coast Daily sued The Space Coast Rocket over the article and a Brevard County Judge dismissed their complaint. They now face possible sanctions and fees for bringing the suit in the first place.
However, Rance has seemingly continued to find access to spaces such as Palm Bay High School, raising concerns from community members and prompting questions about oversight and enforcement.

Public Concerns and Community Reactions
The event, which took place in Palm Bay High School’s gym, saw Rance and other wrestlers performing with special needs children, some of whom were signed to “one-day pro contracts” as part of the InclusionMania experience. The organizers of the event for the children were unaware of Rance’s status as a child sex offender. While organizers promoted the event as a positive step towards inclusivity, the presence of a registered sex offender engaging with minors in a school setting has left parents and community members alarmed.

Team Vision Dojo’s Statement
In response to previous concerns, Team Vision Dojo, the organization led by Rance, released a statement defending his involvement with minors in a professional capacity. The statement acknowledged his criminal conviction but argued that Rance is one of the “best trainers in professional wrestling around” and that he has openly shared his past with parents. The organization framed his continued work with minors as a testament to his dedication to the wrestling community.

Their statement reads:
“Chasyn completed everything that was required by law and then went back to training minors again sharing full knowledge of his past with parents. Chasyn continues to be one of the best trainers in professional wrestling around and there’s no denying that. While the actions of the past look very bad, the future looks bright for all those that Chasyn continues to help.”
The statement went on to dismiss previous criticisms of Rance’s involvement in public events, referring to them as “false accusations that this website has promoted in the past that was debunked.”

Chasyn’s brother Ashtyn was also convicted of sex crimes against a toddler. The citizen who alerted The Space Coast Rocket about this matter showed us information of at least 5 other affiliates of Rance and Team Vision Dojo with records of sex crimes ranging from child pornography to human trafficking and others. He states that Space Coast Daily was emailed numerous times to inform them of these charges and he never received a response and the events still went on anyway.

The Need for Oversight and Accountability
This situation has highlighted a lack of transparency and communication between local authorities, schools, and the public regarding policies around registered sex offenders accessing spaces where minors are present. Although Rance has fulfilled his legal obligations, community members argue that more stringent safeguards should be in place, especially in public schools and even more so around special needs children.
The community is now left questioning how this event was permitted on school grounds especially when according to the district, proper protocols were followed. A simple Google search of his unique name reveals his status in the top results.

As events like InclusionMania continue to take place in school facilities, it remains essential to address the broader implications of allowing registered sex offenders to participate in public activities involving minors. The community urges the school district and local law enforcement to prioritize safety and transparency in these decisions, ensuring that all children are protected in public spaces.
