VIERA, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2026) – Viera High School’s girls varsity wrestling team placed second overall Friday at the FHSAA Girls Class 1A Region 2 tournament, finishing behind Freedom High School (Orlando).
Viera advanced seven wrestlers to the FHSAA state championship meet in Kissimmee, including four regional champions and three third-place finishers, according to results distributed in a media release.

Four Hawks win regional titles
- Catalina Kenney (Sr.), 115 pounds, champion
- Michelle Amyot (So.), 120 pounds, champion
- Ryauna Nepomuceno (Sr.), 125 pounds, champion
- Savannah Nazario-Darnell (Jr.), 170 pounds, champion
Senior Ryauna Nepomuceno’s run to the 125-pound title was especially efficient. The release said she spent 2 minutes and 26 seconds total on the mat, pinning each opponent in under a minute.



Additional state qualifiers
- Zahar Zouaki (Jr.), 105 pounds, third place
- Elizabeth Pinto (So.), 110 pounds, third place
- Olivia Gapud (Jr.), 130 pounds, third place
Team standings
Freedom (Orlando) won the regional team title with 270 points. Viera finished second with 175, followed by Sunlake (130.5) and Harmony (114).
