Sebastian Inlet State Park – In the aftermath of tornadoes from Hurricane Milton that recently ravaged the coastline, one family’s commitment to their community stood out. Frank Davis, his wife Melissa, and their three children sprang into action after discovering roofs and debris washed ashore at Sebastian Inlet State Park. The family took on an impressive two-day beach cleanup, making a significant impact and inspiring others to do the same.

On their first day at the beach, the Davis family faced miles of trash and foam scattered along the shore. Realizing the magnitude of the mess, they set out to clear the debris, eventually filling over 41 bags. They even found creative ways to manage the foam debris by threading it together with “mule tape,” an idea Frank came up with to keep the material from blowing away or floating back out to sea.
By the end of their second day, the family had filled a total of 43 bags and had removed a significant amount of debris from the beach. Frank shared updates on social media, expressing his pride in his family’s efforts and their dedication to restoring the beach. Their initiative was met with widespread community support, as Frank’s posts garnered hundreds of reactions and comments from people applauding their hard work.
Despite the overwhelming task, Frank and his family persevered, motivated by their shared goal of keeping the ocean and beaches clean. “Proud of my wife and three hardworking kids,” Frank wrote, emphasizing their collective impact on the beach cleanup efforts.
The Davis family showed that it doesn’t take a big organized effort to make a difference. In this case, it was just a small family that cares about their community and the beach that we all enjoy.
