TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Florida judge has granted a restraining order against U.S. Congressman Cory Mills (R-Fla.), following allegations from his former girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, that he harassed her, made threats to damage her reputation, and attempted to blackmail her using explicit images.

The order, signed Tuesday in Columbia County, prohibits Mills from having any contact with Langston, who is the reigning Miss United States. It bars him from approaching within 500 feet of her and forbids him from referring to her directly on social media. The injunction will remain in effect through January 1, 2026.
If Mills violates the order, Langston is instructed to report it to authorities. Mills could face indirect criminal contempt charges if a violation is found.

Details of the Case
According to court records and local reporting, Langston filed the petition in August after their relationship ended. She alleged that Mills repeatedly refused to leave her alone despite her requests, and claimed he threatened to harm her reputation by releasing intimate materials and made statements implying he would interfere with any future relationships she pursued.

Langston testified that she initially attempted to handle the situation privately but ultimately sought legal protection after the behavior continued.
Mills’ Response
Mills has denied the allegations. He testified earlier this fall that his communications with Langston had been mischaracterized and argued that his phone, which allegedly contained the explicit materials in question, was damaged and inaccessible. Mills has suggested the case is politically motivated.
A hearing in September featured testimony from both Mills and Langston but concluded without a ruling at that time due to time constraints. Tuesday’s ruling finalized the injunction.
Legal and Political Implications
While the restraining order is a civil action and does not itself carry criminal penalties, the allegations touch on Florida’s statutes regarding the nonconsensual distribution of explicit images, commonly known as “revenge porn” laws. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is reportedly reviewing aspects of the case.
The injunction adds to mounting legal and political scrutiny surrounding Mills. Earlier this year, Washington, D.C. police investigated an alleged assault involving Mills, though no charges were filed. He is also the subject of a House ethics inquiry related to federal contracts.
Any violation of the restraining order could result in legal consequences and intensify the political fallout.
