The arrest affidavit has been released for 3rd grade teacher Karly Anderson for her involvement in Roosevelt Elementary’s Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan’s underage house party. The details outline drug use by minors, excessive drinking, fights, and guns pointed at other students all documented on Snapchat. Students stated that Principal Hill-Brodigan hosted these types of parties with students twice a month.

Below is a summary of the affadavit:

On the night of the incident, officers responded to reports of an open house party at the residence of Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan. Upon arrival, they observed numerous vehicles parked along the street, blocking the roadway, and a large number of juveniles gathering at the residence. Juveniles present at the house claimed they did not know who was hosting the party.

Initial Response and Escalation: Corporal Brown contacted Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, who was not at the residence at the time but acknowledged the party and claimed she would address the situation. Officers began conducting traffic stops on vehicles leaving the area and found intoxicated juveniles, some of whom were dressed in “white lie” party attire. One juvenile driver was arrested for DUI with a blood alcohol level of 0.118, while a passenger was cited for marijuana possession.

Despite these efforts, officers continued to receive complaints from neighbors about juveniles trespassing, shouting obscenities, and creating disturbances. When officers returned to the residence, Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan arrived and claimed she was shutting down the party. However, the party remained active, and additional complaints were made, including a false report from a juvenile alleging gunshots and satanic activity at a nearby park. Officers investigated the park but determined the call was unfounded.

Medical Emergency and Karly Anderson’s Involvement: During a traffic stop, Sergeant Ingersoll encountered a severely intoxicated juvenile male vomiting and shaking outside the residence. Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) was called to provide medical attention. At this time, Karly Anderson, a known third-grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School, approached the scene. She appeared visibly intoxicated, berated BCFR responders, and made incoherent statements. Officers noted that Anderson smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and exhibited erratic mood swings. She admitted to drinking and being present at the party but denied responsibility. It was at this time that Elizabeth came outside and turned off all the outside lights while BCFR was trying to take care of the juvenile patient.

Student Statements and Gun Incident: Subsequent interviews with students revealed that over 100 juveniles attended the party. Many stated that such events were regularly hosted at Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan’s residence, where alcohol and marijuana were readily available in coolers. Witnesses reported seeing a white male juvenile wearing a mask, brandishing a firearm (described as a Beretta), and pointing it at another person while recording videos. These videos were allegedly shared SnapChat, but officers were unable to locate all of the footage for some instances. The presence of the firearm at the party created a significant safety risk and heightened the severity of the situation.

Students also reported fights during the party, including one altercation where a student punched another who was described as autistic. A Cocoa Beach High School wrestler intervened by slapping the aggressor. Witnesses confirmed that Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan was present inside the residence throughout the night but made no effort to stop the party or address the incidents.

Karly Anderson’s Arrest: On January 24, 2025, Karly Anderson was observed driving near Roosevelt Elementary School. Officers conducted a traffic stop as she pulled into her residence. Anderson was instructed to exit her vehicle, placed under arrest, and transported to the Cocoa Beach Police Department. After being read her Miranda rights, Anderson refused to provide a statement and was subsequently transported to the Brevard County Jail.

Conclusion: The investigation revealed that Karly Anderson, along with Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, failed to prevent or mitigate the dangerous activities occurring at the party. Anderson’s presence at the event, her level of intoxication, and her failure to act responsibly contributed to the charges against her, including child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of minors. The presence of alcohol, drugs, and a firearm, as well as incidents of violence, underscored the serious nature of the offenses.
