MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the second time in two days, tragedy has struck on the train tracks near Fee Avenue in Melbourne. A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday night, according to the Melbourne Police Department. Officers responded to the scene around 8:25 p.m.
Authorities reported that the man had been walking on the tracks when he was struck. No one aboard the train was injured, and road closures in the area, stretching to Hibiscus Boulevard, were cleared by midnight. Police have indicated that the man’s death appears to have been a suicide.
