Through investigation by detectives, to include interviews with the child’s parents, probable cause was developed for the arrest of the child’s father, Edrick Lamar Davis. On June 20*, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Davis, arresting him without incident. Davis was charged with 1st-Degree Felony Murder of a Child and Aggravated Child Abuse. Davis was remanded to the Brevard County Jail Complex without bond.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Melbourne Police Department (321-608-6731), Detective Thomas Cahalan (321)608-6453, or the Central Florida Crimeline (800-423-TIPS).|
