The incident unfolded Monday, November 24, 2025, around 9:42 a.m., when Titusville Police officers were called to the 4400 block of Gray Avenue after receiving reports that an armed individual was threatening family members with a firearm. Officers were able to get the family to safety and quickly identified the suspect as Julius D. Castellon of Titusville.

According to the department, probable cause was established for Castellon’s arrest after speaking with witnesses. Officers attempted to negotiate with him by phone, but Castellon refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside the residence. Detectives then applied for an arrest warrant while Crisis Negotiators continued speaking with him for more than three hours.

Police say Castellon repeatedly refused to come out, prompting Titusville PD SWAT to respond to the scene. Once the SWAT team began their tactical operation, Castellon surrendered peacefully without any injuries to officers or bystanders.

Castellon is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in a domestic violence incident, as well as possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person subject to an injunction. He is currently being held at the Brevard County Detention Center on a no bond status.
