Brevard County, FL – A Titusville tattoo artist, Zachary Richard Whitman, is once again under scrutiny after repeated arrests and convictions reveal a disturbing pattern of violence, stalking, and harassment of women spanning more than a decade.

Latest Arrest: Aggravated Stalking in West Melbourne
On November 21, 2024, West Melbourne Police arrested Whitman for stalking and harassing a woman. According to arrest affidavits, Whitman followed her from West Side Sports Bar, crept around her vehicle, and messaged her through Facebook with harassing comments such as “Enjoy your date. Slut.”
Despite repeated warnings from the victim to leave her alone, Whitman allegedly contacted her more than 20 times from randomized numbers and continued to track her movements on social media. Police said he used multiple accounts to like her posts, block her, and then reappear — behavior investigators described as intimidation.

When officers arrived, Whitman was spotted skulking through a Walgreens parking lot, hood pulled over his head, attempting to avoid law enforcement before being detained. He was charged with Aggravated Stalking, Violation of a Stalking Injunction, and Violation of Pretrial Release (Domestic Violence).
Court-Confirmed Violence: The 2015 Case
Whitman’s history of violence is not limited to recent years. Court documents and police records obtained by The Space Coast Rocket confirm a 2015 domestic battery case involving the mother of his child.

On October 11, 2015, Melbourne Police responded to her apartment where she was found with severe facial injuries, swelling, and bleeding. According to the police narrative, Whitman had ripped her clothing, punched her repeatedly in the face, and smashed her phone to prevent her from calling 911.
She attempted to flee, but Whitman reportedly chased her into the parking lot while threatening to kill her. A neighbor told officers she overheard Whitman shouting: “I’m going to kill you.”
The incident was recorded by officers, who photographed her injuries and documented witness accounts. Below are photos of her injuries provided to us with her consent to be published.
Whitman was arrested and later convicted of Tampering with a Witness and Battery Domestic Violence. A 2016 disposition report shows he was sentenced to 66 days in jail (with credit for time served), followed by 24 months of probation with strict conditions: drug treatment, regular urinalysis, no alcohol, and no contact with Johnson.
Despite these restrictions, records show Whitman violated probation — an early sign of the same disregard for court orders seen in his more recent stalking cases.
A History of Defying Protective Orders
Time and again, Whitman has been accused of ignoring injunctions, restraining orders, and probationary conditions meant to protect women from his behavior.
In the most recent West Melbourne case, even after being served with a no-contact order and a temporary injunction, Whitman continued to message the victim with texts like:
“I miss you so much and I’m so sorry. I forgive you. And I love you. Forever. Happy birthday tomorrow. Oh no I didn’t think that would send… please don’t call the cops.”
Police concluded his behavior was not an attempt at reconciliation, but rather a deliberate effort to remind the victim that he was still monitoring her.
Community Raises Alarm
After The Space Coast Rocket covered local repeat offenders, a Titusville resident contacted the newsroom with further allegations, claiming Whitman has abused several women over the years, including women named in public records and others who have not yet come forward.
“This dates back for 12 years,” the message said. “These are all great women that I know personally. Zach is a monster that is going to end up killing a woman and he needs to be stopped. I also know him personally. He should never have another chance to do this.”
A Pattern That Spans Over a Decade
From the 2015 conviction for brutally assaulting the mother of his child to his most recent arrest for aggravated stalking, Whitman’s history shows a consistent cycle: violence, arrest, court intervention, and continued harassment despite judicial orders.
What makes this case particularly alarming for the community is that despite convictions, probation violations, and active injunctions, Whitman has remained active locally as a tattoo artist in Titusville.
