One Dead, Seven Injured in Tesla Truck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — A Tesla truck caught fire and exploded Wednesday morning outside President-elect Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel, leaving one person dead and seven others injured, authorities said.

At a news conference, officials from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County Fire Department confirmed that one person was found dead inside the vehicle. Efforts were underway to recover the body.

Seven bystanders sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The fire broke out in the valet area of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas and was reported at 8:40 a.m., according to a county spokeswoman. The cause of the explosion remains unknown, and details are still unclear.

“I know you have a lot of questions,” said Jeremy Schwartz, acting FBI Special Agent in Charge for the Las Vegas office. “We don’t have a lot of answers at this time.”

Eric Trump, son of the president-elect and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, addressed the incident on the social media platform X, commending the fire department and local law enforcement for their “swift response and professionalism.”

The 64-story Trump International Hotel is located just off the Las Vegas Strip, across from the Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping mall.
