Yesterday, he Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) classified Moms for Liberty as an “anti-government extremist” group, in its latest “Year in Hate & Extremism” report released Tuesday.
Moms 4 Liberty co-founder calls for violence on the same day they are designated as an extremist group

The SPLC wrote in a statement:.
“Moms for Liberty activities make it clear that the group’s primary goals are to fuel right-wing hysteria and to make the world a less comfortable or safe place for certain students–primarily those who are Black, LGBTQ or who come from LGBTQ families.”
On their Twitter page, Moms for Liberty quickly reacted to the formal designation with calls for fundraising off the news.
Curiously however, less than 2 hours of reminding everyone of their Joyful Warrior status, and on the same day they are designated as a National Extremist Group, co-founder Tiffany Justice calls for violence. Although the group is called “Moms” for Liberty, they do not limit their membership to just mothers. As Tiffany points out in the below tweet, “where are the dads?” She says that the dads “aren’t interested in having conversations like the Moms were.” Sharing a video of a violent brawl outside of a School Board meeting in Glendale, CA of reportedly Armenian-American men fighting pro-LGBTQ protestors and police, she say “Dad energy is often necessary and very effective.” Armenia is a middle-eastern country that borders Iran and Turkey, and well known for its anti-LGBTQ beliefs.
The “we are against violence, but also for it” messaging may have been part of the considering factors in their being designated as an extremest organization. Early on, when their members acted in such manners, leadership would state that they couldn’t control the behavior of all their members of such a large organization, which may be true. But what is also true, is that you can influence behavior as well, and calling for violence often and necessary, will likely lead to more violent “dad energy.”
Moms for Liberty continues to try and expand their reach and influence in elected offices. Twice failed candidate Monique Miller, a founding advisory board member for Moms For Liberty is running once again to fill the open seat of State Representative Randy Fine. She ran for Florida House in 2016, placing 3rd in a 4-way race, and also lost a bid for Florida Senate in 2014. She is now the 4th Republican to file for the District 33 seat. She is married to ousted former Palm Bay City Manager Gregg Lynk, who was fired in 2018 among the David Isnardi (his Deputy City Manager) corruption fallout.
Moms for Liberty has also advertised that they will be hosting Governor DeSantis and President Trump as guest speakers at this years National Summit.
