Yesterday, several former employees reached out to us after being laid off from L3 Harris. One employee of over 40 years told us that she was asked to come to the conference room for a meeting, and unceremoniously escorted out of the building. That was it.
L3 Harris releases statement on large-scale layoffs in Brevard

It was reported to us that between 140-200 employees at the Palm Bay facilities alone were let go yesterday.
The following email was sent out to employees.
“We have begun to build a more strategic and cost-effective supply chain, streamlined numerous business processes, and identified additional initiatives to capture savings. We have also concluded that to maintain our long-term competitiveness and accelerate momentum toward our savings commitment, we must take the difficult step of implementing workforce reductions that will impact approximately 5% of our total workforce this year. With these reductions, we are focused on eliminating non-core processes and initiatives, streamlining our organizational structure to maximize efficiency, investing in technology and talent development, and rightsizing our physical footprint.”
Sara Banda, the L3 Harris spokesperson made the following statement:
“L3Harris continues to focus on operational performance and delivering on our LHX NeXt commitments, including $1 billion in gross cost savings over the next three years. With this in mind, and having identified a series of opportunities to streamline our operations, we have made the difficult decision to right-size our workforce. As our industry’s Trusted Disruptor, we will continue to think differently about how we deliver value to both our customers and our shareholders.”
L3 Harris is the 3rd largest employer in Brevard County, and the largest in Palm Bay. Latest information reveals they employ approximately 7,000 residents in Brevard and about 50,000 worldwide. Health first and Brevard Public Schools are the largest employers in Brevard respectively.
