4 killed, 6 hospitalized in 5 vehicle crash on 95

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Four people, including a 7-year-old boy were killed in a horrific 5-vehicle car accident on I-95 early this morning.

The accident happened around 2:15 a.m. Monday near mile marker 153 in the northbound lanes of I-95, according to troopers. Indian River County Fire Rescue crews responded and pronounced four people dead at the scene: a 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Miami, along with a 40-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy, both from Palm Bay, officials said.

Assistant Fire Chief Bill Herrington said six other people were taken to hospitals and one refused treatment. Those taken to the hospital include a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Canada.

Others hospitalized included a 42-year-old man, 5-year-old boy, 9-year-old girl and a two-month-old boy, all of Palm Bay, troopers said. A 63-year-old Miami man declined treatment and was released from the scene.
