Florida now leads the nation in daily cases of Covid-19, nearly double that of the number two state of Texas. Florida shows a 55% increase in cases over the last 2 weeks. Florida has now reported 2,337,613 cases with 37,985 deaths.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, suspended all local coronavirus restrictions and mandates in May. On July 1, they were permanently invalidated. A state of emergency was allowed to expire on June 26.
Cases have increased recently and are very high. The number of hospitalized Covid patients has fallen in the Brevard County area. Deaths have remained at about the same level.
An average of 71 cases per day were reported in Brevard County, a 106 percent increase from the average two weeks ago. Since the beginning of the pandemic, at least 1 in 14 residents have been infected, a total of 43,702 reported cases. Right now, Brevard County is at a high risk for unvaccinated people.
January 2021 was the worst month for cases in Brevard County. Currently, Brevard County is 3 times the national average in cases per 100k.
