COCOA, Fla. – A 33-year-old Palm Bay woman employed by Aramark at the Brevard County Jail Complex was arrested Tuesday after investigators say a contraband investigation uncovered allegations that she brought tobacco into the jail, communicated with an inmate using a two-way device, and engaged in sexual misconduct while working inside the facility.
Lisa Marie Sanders was booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex at 860 Camp Road in Cocoa on Jan. 27, according to a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office probable cause affidavit.
Sanders is charged with sexual misconduct between a detention facility employee or contractor and an inmate under Fla. Stat. 951.221. She also faces charges of introducing tobacco products into a county detention facility under Fla. Stat. 951.22 and unlawful use of a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony under Fla. Stat. 934.215.
According to the affidavit, the investigation began as a probe into the alleged introduction of contraband into the jail. Deputies say the investigation determined Sanders unlawfully brought three packs of tobacco cigarettes into the Brevard County Jail Complex and provided them to an incarcerated individual identified as Reginald Jones.
Investigators also allege Sanders engaged in a sexual relationship with Jones while he was incarcerated. The affidavit states Sanders admitted that, from January 2026 through the time of the investigation, she engaged in sexual acts with the inmate while employed at the facility.
In addition, deputies say investigative review found Sanders and the inmate maintained extensive communication through phone calls and electronic messages using a two-way communication device. Investigators allege the communications included discussions about sexual encounters and coordination to bring additional contraband into the facility.
The affidavit states Sanders was advised of her Miranda rights and provided a post-Miranda statement that investigators say corroborated the findings. Deputies also noted digital media and physical evidence were obtained during the investigation, and that a more detailed case report was expected to follow.
Court records listed a $5,000 bond for the contraband charge and a $2,500 bond for the two-way communications device charge. The affidavit indicated no bond on the sexual misconduct charge.
