Platinum Roofing, a company long respected on the Space Coast for its ethical business practices and generosity to the community, has found itself the victim of a devastating betrayal at the hands of one of its own employees.

According to investigators, longtime employee Christine Beasley systematically stole nearly $180,000 from the company between 2023 and 2024 through fraudulent payroll manipulation, unauthorized checks, and misuse of company credit cards. She was arrested yesterday and charged with grand theft, and scheme to defraud.
What makes the crime especially painful for owner Brandyn and his family is the trust and support they extended to Beasley over the years. Brandyn told The Space Coast Rocket that he had treated Beasley “like family,” even going so far as to help pay her family’s medical bills and covering the deposit on her home.

“She came to us asking for help, and we never turned her away,” Brandyn said. “We went above and beyond for her because we believed in loyalty and taking care of our people. To find out this was happening the entire time was heartbreaking.”
The investigation revealed Beasley secretly increased her hourly pay rate, paid herself overtime despite being salaried, and wrote unlawful company checks to herself and her landlord. The thefts only came to light when Beasley requested an advance on her paycheck only for records to later show that she paid herself the advance again, raising suspicions that ultimately launched the investigation.

Allegations
Fraudulent Credit Card Charges: Christine Beasley allegedly used the company credit card to make personal purchases and refunded herself for purchases that were never made.
Total fraudulent charges: $36,587.00.
Payroll Manipulation & Unapproved Raises: She was originally hired at $25/hour, later raising her pay rate without the victim’s knowledge or approval to between $33.75–$40/hour, plus paying herself overtime (even though she was salaried).
In 2023, her agreed salary was supposed to be $68,640.00, but she paid herself $94,067.00.
She overpaid herself $25,427.00 beyond the agreed salary that year.
In 2024, she was again supposed to make $68,640.00, but by November she had already paid herself $92,831.25, an excess of $26,831.25.
Extra Payments Over Two Years:
Total unauthorized payments for 2023–2024: $52,258.25.
She paid herself not only hourly but also overtime, despite being salaried.
She allegedly falsified payroll records to make it appear she had been given raises that were never approved.
Writing Unlawful Checks to Herself:
From 2023–2024, she also wrote company checks to herself, totaling $88,845.25.
Admissions & Investigative Findings
During an interview, Beasley admitted she believed she owed the victim money but claimed the amount was only about $13,000, not the higher totals investigators calculated.
Investigators determined her actions were deliberate and for personal financial gain.
Total confirmed losses to the company (fraud + overpayments + checks) exceed $177,690.50.
Platinum Roofing has earned widespread trust across Brevard County for its integrity and community involvement. In 2022, they were selected as the preferred roofing company for all six Pineapple Cove campuses. They are also donating the roof for the new 5,000 square foot structure at the Pineapple Cove community pool.
The company has also put up reward money to assist in finding missing children, a reflection of their commitment to community safety and family values. Unlike some in the industry, Platinum Roofing is known for rejecting high-pressure door-to-door sales tactics and avoiding questionable insurance claim practices.
“They’re trusted by community leaders for a reason,” one supporter told us. “They’ve always been about doing things the right way.”
For Brandyn and his team, this ordeal is a reminder that even the strongest companies can be vulnerable to betrayal from within. But despite the financial and emotional damage caused by the theft, he says Platinum Roofing’s mission hasn’t changed.
“We’ve built our reputation on trust and service to the community,” Brandyn said. “One person’s actions won’t take that away from us. We’re going to keep doing what we’ve always done—helping our neighbors and leading with integrity.”
