A West Melbourne man accused of choking and assaulting a domestic partner was located and taken into custody after he was tracked using a Tesla app, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by the West Melbourne Police Department.
Police arrested Henry Francisco Angulo, 39, on Feb. 5, 2026, and booked him into the Brevard County Jail, records show. Angulo is facing a domestic violence related charge of battery by strangulation under Florida Statute 784.041(1), and the arrest paperwork lists the case as no bond at the time of filing.
According to the affidavit, the defendant and the victim got into a verbal dispute over finances. Police allege Angulo struck the victim in the face, spit on the victim, pinned the victim to the floor, and choked the victim for about 30 seconds, applying pressure to the throat with both a hand and an arm.
The victim reported difficulty breathing during the incident, and officers noted markings consistent with strangulation, along with additional marks consistent with being struck and pinned down.
The affidavit states the defendant left the scene before law enforcement arrived. He was later “tracked using a Tesla app” to the Moore Justice Center, where he was taken into custody, police wrote.
Police also noted Angulo was advised of his Miranda rights and refused to speak with the officer, according to the filing.
An arrest is not a conviction. The allegations outlined above come from law enforcement’s sworn statement in support of probable cause.
