ROCKLEDGE, Fla. (October 23, 2025) — A Rockledge woman was arrested earlier this week after allegedly threatening to burn down Rockledge High School during a heated phone call with school staff over a student lunch account issue.
According to a report from the Rockledge Police Department, officers responded to the school on October 21 following a complaint from a cafeteria employee who said she received an irate call from a woman later identified as Brandie Christine Covington.
Lauer told police that Covington became enraged after her daughter’s boyfriend was unable to receive a school-supplied lunch because there were insufficient funds in his account. When Lauer tried to explain the school’s policy regarding lunch payments, Covington began yelling and cursing, according to the report.
