Rep. Posey’s Statement on the Death of George Floyd

Washington, June 1, 2020 – Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement regarding the death of George Floyd:

“Based upon the videos I have seen, the killing of George Floyd was tragic and senseless. The treatment he received falls far below any standard of decency and respect for Constitutional rights. It is clear the City of Minneapolis failed Mr. Floyd and those who failed him must be held fully accountable. Steps have already been taken to hold the police officer accountable. Likewise, those who have used his tragic death to incite violence, destruction of property and attacks on law enforcement officers should be held fully accountable as well.”
