COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A 69-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested Monday after Cocoa Beach Police say he exposed himself to a young child on the beach.
According to a press release from the Cocoa Beach Police Department, officers responded around 11:23 a.m. on March 9, 2026, to the area of 1600 North Atlantic Avenue after receiving a report that an older man had allegedly exposed himself to a seven-year-old child.
Police say the suspect fled the scene following the incident, running westbound across North Atlantic Avenue while being pursued by the child’s father and a bystander.
Responding officers and detectives canvassed the surrounding area and soon located a man matching the suspect’s description walking along the sidewalk on Jamaica Drive.
The individual was detained by officers and initially provided a false name, according to investigators.
Through further investigation, officers identified the suspect as Ray Torralbes, 69, of Pennsylvania.
Following interviews and additional investigation, detectives determined there was probable cause to charge Torralbes with the following offenses:
- Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition (Victim Under 16) – Second Degree Felony
- Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement – First Degree Misdemeanor
Torralbes was transported to the Brevard County Jail, where he was booked on a $10,500 bond.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Taylor Payne with the Cocoa Beach Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 321-868-3344.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
