Odyssey Charter and Green Apple Management under investigation by Florida DOE; criminal investigation initiated

Published on

According to the Florida Department of Education’s Office of Inspector General, they have reviewed several complaints and allegations from staff at Odyssey Charter Jr/Sr High School, and others. After conducting their review, a formal investigation will be conducted by the Florida Department of Education Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice, as well as Brevard Public Schools if necessary. A criminal complaint involving fraud, waste, and financial mismanagement is also being initiated.

Several staff members are also in communication with legal counsel regarding violations of 112.3187-112.31895, Florida Statutes (also known as the “Whistle-blower’s Act”).

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

The attached lawsuit which Odyssey recently just settled, includes similar allegations currently under investigation. There are likely several more soon to be filed.
