A fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County has claimed the lives of two people, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report released Friday evening.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:17 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, on I-95 southbound near mile marker 232 in Mims, prompting a full closure of the southbound lanes for several hours as troopers investigated the scene.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on I-95 when it ran off the roadway to the right onto the outside shoulder and into the wooded area. As a result of the crash, the 72-year-old male driver from Edgewater was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 59-year-old female passenger from Port Orange was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
FHP confirmed that both occupants were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. There were no other vehicles involved.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and next of kin had not been notified at the time of the report.
The initial alert issued earlier in the evening indicated that the crash involved a motorcycle and resulted in at least one confirmed fatality, with southbound traffic on I-95 blocked while troopers worked the scene. A full crash report was later issued once additional details became available.
