Fatal Motorcycle Collision on A1A in Melbourne Beach

MELBOURNE BEACH, FL – A tragic incident unfolded on State Road A1A, near Moonlight Drive, involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck, resulting in a fatality.

According to the FHP, the accident occurred when a 2014 Harley Davidson Seventy-Two motorcycle, traveling northbound on A1A, failed to stop for a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, which was halted in the same lane ahead of it. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the pickup truck.

The rider of the motorcycle was urgently transported to Holmes Regional Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the Silverado was unharmed and cooperated with the authorities at the scene.

The crash, which caused a temporary closure of the affected road section, is currently under thorough investigation by the FHP.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have relevant information to come forward to assist with the investigation. This tragic event serves as a somber reminder of the potential dangers on the road and the need for increased awareness and caution by all road users.
