As we reported earlier, although Randy Fine didn’t appear on the finalists list for the FAU Presidency, no matter who they selected, they would have to be confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors.

That board consists of at least 13 of 15 members who were appointed by Governor DeSantis.

This is the same board that just confirmed State Representative Fred Hawkins after being removed from office for impersonating a law enforcement officer, taking a plea deal, and also not even meeting the education requirements for the position as he only holds a bachelors degree.

Fine is currently facing punishment by the Florida Commission on Ethics for abuse of office and power.

Fine was demanding up to $1.5 million annually for the position.

The letter released by the board is below.
