Titusville Police Department makes arrest in Hit and Run Crash

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, at approximately 2:04 AM, the Titusville Police Department responded to the area of Cheney Highway and Foley Road for a hit-and-run crash. The incident involved a motorist in a silver Chevrolet Camaro and a bicyclist. Officers arrived on scene and rendered aid to the bicyclist. The initial information was that the Camaro and the bicyclist were traveling in the same direction on Foley Road when the Camaro struck the bicyclist from behind.

The driver, now identified as Ronald Kieta, 53, of Titusville, initially stopped, but shortly after fled the scene without notifying police. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

With the use of Flock license plate readers and community members coming forward with vital information, the vehicle of interest was identified. Using this information, Criminal Investigations Detectives located the driver and the vehicle and through interviews and physical evidence, made an arrest.

On November 14, 2025, Ronald Kieta was arrested without incident and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held on a NO BOND STATUS. Kieta was charged with 1 count of Leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injuries.

“Using data from our Flock Safety Systems which includes license plate readers and citizens who stepped up to share information, detectives were able to quickly identify and arrest the hit-and-run suspect,” said Detective Sergeant Bryan Nelson. “This incident highlights the power of teamwork between the community and today’s technology in keeping Titusville safe.”
