BREVARD County, Fla. — Professional men’s soccer is officially coming to Florida’s Space Coast. The United Soccer League (USL), in partnership with the newly formed Space Coast Pro Soccer, announced their intent today to bring a professional soccer franchise to Brevard County, marking one of the largest sports infrastructure developments in the Melbourne–Titusville corridor in decades.

Plans are already underway for a state-of-the-art soccer stadium that will serve as the home venue for the team and as a vibrant community hub hosting year-round events, concerts, and youth programs. A professional women’s team is expected to follow at a later date.

“The Space Coast Pro Soccer Club is a long-term commitment to Brevard County and its future,” said John Bonner, a key leader of the initiative. “We are building a community gathering place that will deliver thrilling, professional soccer and inspire immense civic pride. This club is designed to unite our growing region, boost local prosperity, and provide the highest level of sport for every resident to rally around.”

Stadium and Economic Impact

The proposed stadium is being described as a transformative anchor project for the region. Beyond hosting USL matches, the venue will be a hub for community programming, youth soccer development, and large-scale events that draw residents and visitors year-round.

Economic forecasts estimate the project will generate 50 to 100 million dollars in annual economic impact, fueling demand for new retail, dining, and entertainment spaces around the stadium. Brevard County’s robust economic foundation — including the Kennedy Space Center, a booming tech sector, and a population of more than 650,000 — provides fertile ground for this growth. Commercial construction permits are up 25 percent year-over-year, while retail vacancy rates continue to decline.

“Brevard County is a thriving soccer community that’s ready to embrace a professional club of its own,” said Justin Papadakis, USL Deputy CEO and Chief Real Estate Officer. “The Space Coast Pro Soccer team is driven by a deep passion for growing the game and building a club that’s rooted in community. As we enter a transformative moment in American soccer, now is the perfect time to bring a professional club to the region.”

Strategic Location and Real Estate Opportunities

Brevard County’s location along I-95, proximity to Melbourne International Airport, and strong tourism infrastructure position it as an ideal home for professional soccer.

Retail real estate opportunities surrounding the stadium are already being marketed as a major commercial development catalyst. Reach Commercial Real Estate is representing retail leasing and development for businesses interested in locating near the stadium, with expectations of a dynamic mixed-use district that blends sports, dining, and entertainment.

Leadership Team Brings Proven Track Record

The leadership behind Space Coast Pro Soccer brings extensive experience in professional soccer, real estate, and venture development.

John Bonner helped launch Orlando City Soccer Club, playing a pivotal role in taking the team from USL to Major League Soccer in 2015. He has built more than 30 businesses across various sectors.

Tommy Bonner, a leader in Central Florida’s real estate industry, grew Regal Real Estate into one of the most successful brokerages in the region and brings deep expertise in commercial and residential development.

Adrian Heath, a former English Premier League player, led Orlando City SC to two USL Championships and coached Minnesota United FC from 2017 to 2023.

Community Involvement and Next Steps

Space Coast Pro Soccer is actively engaging the community to help develop the team’s name, crest, and brand identity, ensuring the club reflects the spirit of Florida’s east coast. The organization is also recruiting investors, supporters, and corporate partners to join the movement.
