26-year-old dead after crashing car into pond on Christmas at Pineda and Wickham

A 26-year-old driver from Indian Harbor Beach was traveling northbound on Pineda Boulevard approaching Wickham Road when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle ran off the road.

According to FHP the front of the 2008 RAV4 collided with a grass embankment, which caused the car to continue traveling north into a pond. The vehicle became submerged underwater, FHP says.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. This crash remains under investigation.
