COCOA BEACH, FL – September 16, 2024 – A 13-year-old student at Cocoa Beach Jr. Sr. High School was arrested today after allegedly posting an electronic threat to carry out a school shooting. The situation unfolded when the school’s resource officer became aware of the threat and quickly alerted authorities.
The student was immediately located and removed from the classroom, according to the Cocoa Beach Police Department. Detectives, with the help of school staff, conducted an investigation that confirmed the legitimacy of the electronic threat. The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with Electronic Threats to Conduct a Mass Shooting.
