Woman found deceased at Pelican Park identified

Published on

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is identifying the female who was found deceased at Pelican Park in Satellite Beach, on Friday, September 15, 2023. The decedent is identified as 58-year-old, Kathleen Steward of Satellite Beach. Ms. Steward was last seen in the area of Berkeley Street and South Patrick Drive in Satellite Beach and was reported as a Missing/Endangered Person on August 21, 2023.

The investigation began after the body of a deceased female was discovered in a wooded area in the park. Investigation at the scene determined that the female had been deceased for several days and there were no immediate signs of trauma to the body. The female’s body was transported to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy was conducted earlier this week. Results of that examination are pending toxicology reports; however, foul play is not suspected at this time.
