In what can only be described as a tragic case of heartbreak, misplaced rage, and questionable beverage choices, an 18-year-old Deltona woman is now facing criminal charges after an ill-fated attempt at revenge on her ex-boyfriend.

The plan, fueled by teenage angst and Four Loko (a beverage famous for inspiring both bad decisions and regret), involved spray-painting and egging his vehicle. Unfortunately for her, her aim was about as good as her judgment, because the car she vandalized belonged to an innocent neighbor.

Deputies responding to the scene quickly located the young woman and her 16-year-old accomplice nearby. The 18-year-old was sporting a pair of yellow spray-painted sweatpants, a bold fashion statement that also happened to double as undeniable evidence. When questioned, she admitted she was upset with her ex-boyfriend, so she and her friend decided to unleash their fury on what they thought was his car.

In addition to botching the vandalism job, the suspect was found driving under the influence, with two open containers of Four Loko sitting proudly in plain view like the world’s worst dashboard ornaments. Deputies also discovered an empty Crown Royal bottle, a scale, and the offending can of yellow spray paint, suggesting that this evening’s activities were a carefully curated cocktail of disaster.

Her 16-year-old partner-in-crime, not one to be left out, was charged with possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, which deputies found in her bag.

Both suspects were arrested, presumably after sobering up just enough to realize that a) they hit the wrong car, b) Four Loko is never the answer, and c) they are now going to have to explain this whole thing to their parents.

The moral of the story? If you’re planning revenge, maybe double-check your target. And if you’re drinking Four Loko? Just… don’t.
