Palm Bay Police officers were dispatched to the area of Palm Bay Road and Main Street NE after a caller reported hearing multiple gunshots and people yelling. While officers were canvassing the area, they learned that three gunshot victims had arrived at the Palm Bay Emergency Room in a white Nissan sedan that showed multiple bullet impacts.

Investigators said the victims told police they were seated inside the Nissan at Castaway Point Park when two vehicles pulled up alongside them. The occupants of those vehicles, described as wearing face coverings, opened fire into the Nissan before fleeing the park.

A 21-year-old male suffered six gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm. An 18-year-old victim sustained a single gunshot wound that grazed the head, and a 16-year-old suffered graze wounds to the hand and face. Hospital staff advised that the injuries initially appeared to be non-life-threatening. However, due to the severity of his injuries, the 21-year-old male is being airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
