According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, an accident involving a small vessel with a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old male resulted in one of them being airlifted to Holmes Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

The wake from another boat struck the small boat the teens were on. The force of the wake caused a 16-year-old girl to be thrown overboard and into the path of their boat’s propeller, leading to severe injuries. The male was not injured.
