By being selected as one of the 60 winning TechRise teams, NASA is supporting the development and demonstration of their payload, including a test flight on a rocket powered lander vehicle.

These talented students will work with scientists over the course of this semester to prepare their payload, set to launch this summer. The Surfside team competed against sixth through twelfth grade students across the United States and US territories.

They are the only winners selected this year from Florida and the first group ever selected from Brevard Public Schools. We are proud of their accomplishment, inspired by their innovation, and cannot wait to see their design come to fruition!
