73-year-old William Irving of Rockledge was witnessed crashing his blue Ford F150 into the railroad crossing arms of Barton Boulevard late last night.

Witnesses say that after he destroyed the crossing signal,he fled the scene, but not before they were able to get his license plate information. fortunately, there were no trains in the area at the time.
Law-enforcement was able to track him down to his residence in Rockledge, where he was positively identified as the driver and sole occupant of the Ford F150.
Police say that Irving’s eyes were watery and glassy and he smelled of alcohol. They requested that he take a field sobriety test, and according to police Irving was so inebriated he could not perform any of the test.
He then agreed to provide a breath sample. Irving provided two samples that resulted in 0.185 and 0.194g/210L.
William Irving was arrested by Rockledge PD and charged with DUI Damage to Property/Person of Another, Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage, and DUI with a Blood Alcohol Concentration exceeding 0.15 for a first offense.
He remains booked in Brevard County Jail.
