Rockledge High Football Coach Terminated Following Investigation into Allegations
Published on

Rockledge High School’s head football coach, Tyrone Giscombe, has been terminated following an investigation into allegations of improper behavior, according to an email sent to parents and staff on December 17th by Rockledge High School Principal Andy Papczynski.
This decision comes after Giscombe was placed on administrative leave in early November. At the time, Brevard Public Schools provided no specific details regarding the reason for the leave, leading to speculation amid Rockledge’s playoff season.
Brevard Schools Human Resources Services Director Ryan Dufrain, stated that the leave stemmed from “accusations of improper behavior with female students,” signaling the gravity of the concerns.
In his message to the school community, Principal Papczynski confirmed Giscombe’s employment had been officially terminated as of December 17th, stating:
“Effective today, Coach Tyrone Giscombe is no longer employed by Rockledge High School. Rockledge HS will begin the search for our next head football coach immediately.”
While Giscombe’s removal ends his brief tenure as head coach—his first season leading the team—it also raises questions among stakeholders regarding the specifics of the allegations. Papczynski declined to comment further on the investigation, citing the matter as a personnel issue.
Giscombe, a defensive specialist and former coach at Cocoa and Viera high schools, led the Raiders to a 6-3 record and a district championship title this season. His absence during key games in November had already sparked media interest.
The Space Coast Rocket reached out to Tyrone Giscombe for comment, but he did not respond.
As Rockledge High begins its search for a new coach, the school administration plans to host a stakeholder meeting to gather input from the community regarding the football program’s future.
