From Jenks Police Department, OK
“Today, Officer Tarasenko observed a male and female panhandling off Highway 75, while patrolling. Officer Tarasenko stopped to speak with the couple to inform them of our panhandling ordinance and to check on their conditions due to the extreme heat.

While speaking with them, Officer Tarasenko learned that the female was pregnant and they were both traveling from Kentucky to San Antonio, on foot, in search of a job in the oilfields.

Officer Tarasenko opted to provide the couple a ride to the Greyhound bus station, and then bought them two tickets to San Antonio with his own money. It’s a small deed like this that makes us proud of our Officers.
