Police identify woman, 23 shot and killed Friday in Palm Bay

PALM BAY, FLORIDA (August 13, 2024): The victim of last Friday’s shooting has been identified as 23-year-old, Jaquelynn Wray (05/09/2001). She was the sister-in-law to the suspect, Joseph Fleming. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

The suspect remains in critical condition at a local hospital. The circumstances surrounding the officer involved shooting are currently under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

The officers involved have been identified as Thomas Baker and John Neal, who bravely protected our community under extremely stressful conditions. In accordance with department policy, they are on administrative leave while FDLE conducts a thorough investigation. We want to thank our community for the numerous messages of support to our officers and department.
