Merritt Island’s Ron Hawkins Arrested for Sex Abuse, Victims under 12-years-old

TWIN BROTHERS ARRESTED ON SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGES

(Washington County, FL, January 14, 2025)-Sheriff Kevin Crews announces the arrest of twin brothers now facing felony charges after allegations of sexual abuse were reported.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation following reports alleging that Donald Ray Hawkins and Ronald Gene Hawkins sexually abused the victims on numerous occasions over a period of several years.

Once investigators interviewed the victims and reviewed evidence in the case, arrest warrants were issued for the arrest of the brothers.

Yesterday, Donald Hawkins, 67, who resides in Cottondale, FL was arrested in Washington County and is being held on the charges of sexual assault on a victim under the age of 12.

Ronald Hawkins, 67, who resides in Merritt Island, FL, was also arrested in Brevard County, FL. Hawkins is awaiting extradition back to Washington County to face the charges of lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim less than 12 years old.
