Hooters, the iconic restaurant chain known for its wings, beer, and waitresses in signature outfits, is reportedly preparing for a potential bankruptcy filing as it struggles with financial difficulties.

According to reports, the company is working with creditors on a restructuring plan, and while no final decision has been made, a Chapter 11 filing could happen within the next two months. The chain has about 300 locations nationwide, but declining customer traffic and financial strain have led to closures.

Hooters had previously raised $300 million in bonds in 2021 to help stabilize its business, but like other restaurant giants such as TGI Fridays and Red Lobster, it is now feeling the pressure of the industry’s financial downturn.
