Florida coronavirus infections exceed 400,000 with 12,444 new cases, 98 in Brevard

Florida added 12,444 coronavirus cases Friday to push the statewide total past 400,000, to 402,312 infected. Friday also saw a record in new hospitalizations at just under 600. And with 135 new virus fatalities reported, 5,653 Florida residents are now dead.

98 new cases in Brevard for 4,756 total.

Statewide, the latest positivity rate made available by the Florida Department of Health, for Thursday, was 13.3%.
