Cocoa, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash that shut down two lanes of I-95 southbound at mile marker 206 near State Road 528 in Brevard County Friday.
According to FHP, a dump truck carrying an excavator struck the concrete overpass bridge, causing significant damage. After the collision, the truck fled the scene.
As of now, two southbound lanes remain closed, with traffic reduced to one open lane. Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
Troopers are asking anyone with information about the dump truck involved to contact FHP at *347.
“This crash remains under investigation,” said Trooper Migdalisis Garcia, Assistant Public Affairs Officer with FHP Troop D.
