PALM BAY, FLORIDA (March 6, 2026): The Palm Bay City Council has officially designated the City of Palm Bay as a Purple Heart City, becoming the first city in Brevard County to receive this distinction. The designation reaffirms the community’s deep respect and appreciation for the men and women who have been wounded or killed in combat while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The designation was approved by the Palm Bay City Council during its March 5, 2026, Regular Council Meeting through the adoption of a formal resolution recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and service of Purple Heart recipients and all military veterans. City Council also presented a proclamation recognizing the Military Order of the Purple Heart City.

Palm Bay is home to a strong and proud military community, including many veterans who have served our nation with honor. By becoming a Purple Heart City, Palm Bay joins communities across the country in formally recognizing those who were wounded in combat or made the ultimate sacrifice while defending the freedoms enjoyed by all Americans.
