BCSO Releases Statement on Dead Woman Found on Side of Road in West Melbourne

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation, after the body of a deceased female was located off the roadway, in the area of Eber Boulevard and Buddy Drive, West Melbourne.  Deputies responded to the area at approximately 6:40 a.m. after a citizen contacted a deputy at the gas pumps of a nearby convenience store advising that there appeared to be a body on the side of the road.  Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units responded to the area and began the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Sheriff’s Office is in the process of identifying the victim and notifying next of kin.  The body was taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.  Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
