According to reports, an unidentified body was found in the undeveloped area of Palm Bay known as the Compound.

There are reports of shell casings apparently from gunfire in the area the body was found.

We are waiting for an official statement from Palm Bay Police as they investigate and will update when more information is available.

A Palm Bay man awaiting trial on felony child abuse charges got a Brevard County judge to lift a ban on contact with minors after telling the judge he was a licensed contractor managing a construction project for Brevard Public Schools.Florida records show John Eric Vernon holds no contractor license and never has.
