On Thursday, March 30th officers responded to Mack Technologies, located at 7505 Technology Dr in West Melbourne due to an employee, Marcus Jeremell Anderson (34), who told co-workers he was going to commit a mass shooting at the business. Anderson said to co-workers he had 17 bullets for 17 heads, but that he would signal them before he started his murderous rampage so they could be safe. According to co-workers, Anderson had identified locations throughout the building to carry out the attack to include where he could escape when police arrived.
West Melbourne officers quickly located Anderson and placed him in custody without incident. He informed investigators he was only joking with his co-workers, but when officers searched his backpack, located in his work locker, they located a silver .380 handgun with a loaded magazine. When officers searched Anderson’s vehicle they also discovered an AR-15 style short barreled rifle, with an overall length of 23.5 inches and no serial number.
