A familiar face from the Space Coast is making waves on poker’s biggest stage. Justin Fawcett, a 1998 graduate of Melbourne High School, has captured his second World Series of Poker gold bracelet, cementing himself as one of the hottest names in the game just one year after his first career title.
Fawcett won Event #83: $1,500 Double Board Bomb Pot Pot-Limit Omaha at this year’s WSOP, outlasting a field of 1,673 entries at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. He took down the title in a heads-up battle against fellow American Abdul Amer, earning $322,564 and his second career bracelet.
The win comes almost exactly one year after Fawcett’s breakout victory in the 2025 WSOP $600 Ultra Stack, where he defeated Thai Dinh heads-up in front of a massive 7,057-entry field to claim his first bracelet and $355,110.
A Career on the Rise
Fawcett is not a full-time touring professional, but his results over the past two summers suggest he could be. According to PokerNews, his live tournament results date back to 2016, when he finished third in a $1,100 WPTDeepstacks event at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa for $47,182. He notched a deep run at the 2022 WSOP as well, finishing 21st in the $1,500 Millionaire Maker for $43,849.
It was the summer of 2025 that changed everything. Fawcett won an $800 No-Limit Hold’em event at Aria Las Vegas for $28,795, then a $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha event at the Venetian for $48,203, before capping the run with his first WSOP bracelet. That hot streak has carried directly into this year’s series, where his latest win pushes his total live tournament earnings past $1.3million across 43 career cashes, according to the Hendon Mob Poker Database.
Fawcett’s win was recognized by the official World Series of Poker social media accounts, which highlighted his rise from conquering a massive 7,057-player field last year to now holding two bracelets in as many summers.
From the Space Coast to the Felt
For a hometown crowd that has watched Fawcett’s career unfold from a distance, the back-to-back bracelet wins are a point of pride. Fun fact, Justin was in my graduating class in 1998 and scored a perfect on his SAT math score.
The 57th World Series of Poker runs through July 15 in Las Vegas, with the $10,000 Main Event currently underway. Fawcett’s fans back home will be watching to see if the Space Coast product has another run left in him before the series wraps.
